CMdb was developed for a large industrial client. It's chief function it to manage data pertaining to Project Management for the Contracts & Procurement division of Calpine Corporation. CMdb is a relational database-pure and simple. What sets it apart from other relational databases (done in Access) is the presentation. CMdb's user interface is quite friendly, intuitive, and attractive-like me. |
CMdb has a custom security management user interface. Users are broken into groups like in most db's. Security packages are also broken into groups, called kits. Each kit gets its own set of permissions which it grants to each respective group.
Each object in the database is associated with a Security Kit. This is managed in a Security by Object user interface.
