Cable Pull - Power Plant Cable Installation Management
|
HBC's client develops billon dollar electrical power plants. Typically construction of these plants is underway long before the electrical design is completed. As anybody might be able to guess, large amounts of cables are installed in these power plants. In order to manage the pertinent cable information (as it is designed) along with installation progress (as it is installed), this industrial company commissioned HBC to generate Cable Pull. Cable Pull is designed to absorb cable system design data from an electrical designer on a periodic basis. Cable Pull analyzes each submission of design data and generates reports on which details have changed since the last data submission. |
Cable Pull also allows the electrical installer to track installation progress. The installer always has a snapshot of installation progress that can be compared with the installation schedule.
When pulling cable in an installation such as this, underground conduit are a prized commodity. Once cables occupy a section of conduit, it is very difficult or impossible to pull more cable into that conduit. Cable Pull has the ability to study design routes of cable routes in order to choreograph cable pulling strategies with the intent occupying fewer sections of conduit.
